Creating and Editing PS Brushes

First I did these patterns and explored the different designs and looks.

I then began to do another and I really like the effect of the x's.

I then finished off the sheet and did the patterns and different designs!

Another finished product.

This is my pattern edited in photoshop. And these inspired me to make the brushes and make good interesting patterns.

6 Photoshop Edits

First I researched a girl in a field until i found the right one for me and to go with the lyrics accurately.-
I then chose this picture for my design.

Then for the two together I researched a beach.
I chose this beach because it looks interesting and full of detail.

Black and White.
Levels.

Light Leaks and Curves.

Hue Saturation.

Layer Mask.

Layer Blending.

Squares for Photoshop Brushes

I did this work at home with paints, fine liner, biro, and pencil. I spend around two hours on the piece and I am very happy with the result of my homework.

Creating Pattern Tile and Final Design

First I scanned in the drawn piece of work. I made the drawings transparent and ungrouped each one and added colour.
Next I put some drawings on the edge of the square to make the pattern more effective.
Afterwards I then duplicated the pattern piece.

This is the final piece zoomed in a little, and I am very happy with the outcome.

Drawing of Pattern Tile

I first found out what lyrics from the song I wanted to use and they were 'let me be your queen bee'. This then influenced me to draw bees and crowns for imagery, first i researched different pictres on google to draw and then created this page and i thought these turned out quite well.

Pen Portrait Progress and Colour

First I scanned in my drawn piece to edit the drawing in Photoshop.

Theses were all the colours that I used throughout my piece. I went onto Pinterest and chose a picture and collected the swatches off that piece. I then added a few more that I thought was appropriate.
Next I coloured in the lines of the hand. I used different colours throughout but to start off with I used a purple pink shade to outline the pocket watch.
I carried on with the piece adding pattern to certain parts of the drawing to give the piece more of an effect.
Finally to complete my work I made my own diamond pattern colour coordinated to the hand and stamped this directly behind my previous work.

Theses are the layers I had to  create to make my pen portrait,

The completed piece, I am pleased with this as it is my first time creating patterns and adding different colours together in Photoshop to make a creative colourful drawing.

Pen Portrait

For the first drawing i used the lyrics 'diamonds on your timepiece'. We had to do a line drawing with a human feature so i thought about a hand holding a pocket watch to represent a 'timepiece'. Later on in photoshop I used a pattern to incorporate diamonds but for now my drawing was this. I did a hand drawn piece which is the bottom drawing and a copied drawing at the top. Eventually i decided t use my drawn piece as i had more detail like thinner and thicker lines throughout.

Planning the Page Content

First for my song I chose six different lyrics to design and then write them into a lyric book. I the put them in an order and wrote them into this cubed diagram to make a plan of what i am going to do for my book.

Using the lyrics above they then inspired me to write down these drawing types to use throughout the book. I know some of these will change because this is only a plan but this is a rough outline of what my lyric book will look like.

Presentation

For my book I am doing the lyrics out of the song Royals by Lorde. I thought of this song because there are many quotes for imagery.

Type - Final Design

To make my final design more quirky I only used colour in some of my font and others I just left plain however it still looks quite effective and cool! My final design is now complete and I am very pleased with the outcome of my work throughout the weeks.

Type - Work in Progress

Firstly I opened my scanned work onto a photoshop document and then opened a new page to copy and paste my work to make my final design.
Secondly I put all of my fonts I was using in alphabetical order.

And finally I added colour for a better effect throughout. I used my favourite colour within my final piece.

Type - Drawn

I then drew this out in my sketch book. The research really influenced me to draw these certain font types out and then traced them to then scan them into my computer to eventually produce my final design.

Type - Research

This is the research I did on Pinterest to influence my drawings. All of these posts on Pinterest helped my to do my final design the way it was.

Business Cards - Final Piece

These are my final designs and my business cards that I did on photoshop, but they are done on paper therefore you can see the other side. I made a few changes to my design as I didn't think the space was completely filled therefore on my final piece there are a few changes.

Business Cards - Work In Progress

At the beginning of creating my business card I scanned this picture of my camera drawing that I was going to use for the front of my card. I drew it on a different piece of paper then transferred it into photoshop to begin my design.
Next I wrote my details for the back of my business cards. These are for people to access me if they need the service, this is the criteria that was needed throughout the project to work.

Next I copied the logo from the internet and put them onto my blog details. These represent what each detail is for.

After that I added my name onto the business card so that people know who I am. Also it uses the space within the card.

This is my final design that I printed out back to back, a camera at the front, and details at the back. I left it quite plain and simple but still effective. I also filled the space because I didn't want it to look boring.

Business Cards - Drafting

I drew two different designs for my business cards. After research I made these. They were two quick drawings and texts I did for my drafting. The top left drawing influenced me to do the camera in my final design. A lot changed in my photo shop design but these drafts helped me to begin.

Business Cards - Research

This is my pin board from Pinterest I made researching different types of business cards, I have also got other patterns and images that could also be used to design my own business cards. These original designs influenced me to do a camera and then text at the back. I had the idea of doing aztec but through trial and error that wasn't right. So I chose the camera for my final design.
